MCKENNA RYAN
Nursing 2020
ABOUT ME
My name is McKenna Ryan. I have been at Southeast Career Technical Academy studying to be a Certified Nursing Assistant for four years now. I participate in extracurriculars like Student Council and Student Ambassadors. I am planning to go to UNLV and study medical imaging to become an ultrasound technician. During my senior year, I was given a project to answer the question, "How can I use my future career to impact the world around me?" I looked into the chiropractic field to see how I could improve patient-centered care. Below is my plan to help improve those relationships between doctors and patients.

Questions & Answers with a Chiropractor
PLAN
CONDITIONS
Who can benefit from this package?
If you experience any of these, a chiropractor is in your future.
BACK & NECK PAIN
Back and neck pain can be relieved by adjustments from the chiropractor and proper aftercare.
MIGRANE HEADACHES
Adjustments to the neck and back can relieve tension causing headaches and migraines.
CAR ACCIDENTS
Often right after a car accident, a person may not feel immediate pain and discomfort, but a visit to the chiropractor will ensure the bones are back to correct placement to reduce pain.
SCOLIOSIS
Scoliosis is a sideways curvature of the spine that occurs most often during the growth spurt just before puberty. This can be fixed over time with chiropractic work and surgery.
SOURCES
This website helped me understand how important it is to make sure you understand a patient and vice-versa for the patient to the doctor. This website also helped me come to the conclusion that sometimes communication gets mixed up, so creating an inclusive bond with patients will improve care levels.
This explains the importance of patient-centered care and it helped me lead to the idea of creating a platform where doctors and patients can communicate, but in a more modern way.
